I had to use a laptop today that was optimized for Windows 98. I'd never used a laptop before that was over an inch thick and contained a floppy drive. It is less than 2 years younger than I am. Oh, and a lot of the equipment in the lab has "GM - Pontiac Motors Devision" written on it. /cool story

The project was set up in 2009 so that's sadly correct.

Some of that equipment could've had a hand in the Solstice Coupe and G8 Sport Truck.

Well, I owned a laptop that thick in college, but it was ruggedized, so it had an excuse. Also, it was at least XP.
